Senator Mark Pody represents Tennessee’s 17th Senate District, which includes Wilson County and part of Davidson County. He has served in the Tennessee General Assembly since 2011, first in the House of Representatives and, since 2018, in the State Senate. Senator Pody currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Senate Transportation and Safety Committee and is a member of the Education and Energy, Agriculture and Natural Resources Committees. He also serves as Senate Chairman of the Tennessee-Israel Caucus and Chairman of the Tennessee Legislative Prayer Caucus. Outside of the legislature, Senator Pody is a small business owner with a background in financial planning and insurance and has been actively involved in numerous civic and community organizations throughout Middle Tennessee. He and his wife, Barbara, are longtime Wilson County residents and are deeply involved in their community.
