David Lopez is a civic leader, executive coach, and entrepreneur at the intersection of economic development, innovation, and community-building. Based in Louisville, Kentucky, he has spent two decades working across nonprofit, for-profit, and philanthropic sectors — with a particular focus on organizational effectiveness and building institutions that last.
As a board member of One Louisville and immediate past Chair of the Louisville Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, David has been a leading voice on Louisville's emerging opportunity to move from supply chain execution to supply chain design — arguing that the city's deep operational expertise in logistics, combined with the rise of agentic AI and digital technology, creates a narrow but consequential window for Louisville to reposition itself as a hub for supply chain innovation.
He founded Derby Pitch, a startup pitch competition connecting entrepreneurs — including early-stage companies in industrial AI and logistics technology — with investors and corporate leaders at GE Appliances and Suntory Global Spirits. He has convened cross-regional conversations on AI's role in disrupting supply chain design, bringing together operators, investors, and founders from the region and beyond.
David's prior leadership includes serving as Founding Chief Development Officer at Metro United Way and Global Lead for Fundraising and Development at Teach For All, where he helped build the fundraising strength of a global network with more than $400M in annual revenue.
